Front Crossmember Drawings for Leafsprings

These drawings are not the same as the Stagewest brackets. This article is to help assist you in constructing a bracket. Other modifications can be applied to smooth out the edges, perhaps a few added gussets for added support. This should help you to get headed in the right direction. Good luck!!!!

Details

  • The top 6”x 37” section is made of Ό” plate steel.
  •  The sections, which cradle the leaf springs, are 3/16” steel plates.
  • All holes are drilled ½” in diameter.

This 1st drawing is a top view; use this for the location of the holes, which will be used to bolt the bracket to the front of your vehicle.

The drawing below is a front view. This view shows where added support brackets are welded in between the spring perches. The support brackets are 3/16” thick and have dimensions of 2”x3”.

The drawing below is an isometric view to assist you on what the bracket really looks like.

This drawing is of the left side, with the front of the bracket facing the left side of the paper. The extra 2” support brackets are located in the front and the rear, so don’t let that bother you.

Information and drawings taken from e-mail from Michael T. Trahan.
